Se construyeron 1418: 1265 para Estados Unidos, 98 para Canadá, 48 para Brasil, 7 para México. Todos tenían motores ALCo.12v244ci de fábrica, aunque los RS3 supervivientes generalmente se han reconstruido con motores mejorados.
